Questions frequently asked by customers
Have a question we didn’t answer?
Our support team is just a message away.
Are Lucyd Armor safety glasses ANSI Z87.1 certified?
Yes, with a distinction by model. Armor and Armor Slim carry the ANSI Z87.1-2020 high-impact (Z87+) rating and CSA Z94.3:20 Class 1 or 1A. Armor Vantage passed basic impact only and is rated Z87, without the plus. These ratings apply to the frame with plano, non-prescription lenses.
Do Lucyd Armor glasses meet OSHA eye-protection requirements?
Armor meets ANSI Z87.1, the standard OSHA’s eye-protection rule (29 CFR 1910.133) references, rather than a certification OSHA issues directly. Armor and Armor Slim meet the Z87+ high-impact level; Armor Vantage meets the basic Z87 level. Check which level your site’s safety program specifies before ordering.
Can I wear Lucyd Armor with my prescription?
Yes. Armor base takes single-vision and progressive lenses from -2 to +8 SPH, Armor Slim from -2 to +6 SPH, and Armor Vantage accepts any prescription, with the lab verifying anything above -10 SPH. Prescription-glazed Armor has not yet completed impact-rating qualification, so we don’t claim a Z87 rating on Rx orders. Custom Armor lenses cost $25 more than the equivalent Lyte lenses because of the frame’s high curvature.
How long does the Armor battery last on a shift?
Up to 8 hours of music on a full charge at moderate volume. That covers a full work shift, and a full charge takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Higher volume and long calls shorten it.
Can I take calls and use the walkie-talkie on a job site?
Yes. Armor’s open-ear speakers and mic handle calls over Bluetooth like any headset, and the Lucyd app adds walkie-talkie-style push-to-talk with other Lucyd app users. Everyone on the channel needs the latest Lucyd app open in the foreground and a working data or Wi-Fi connection for push-to-talk to work.
Do you sell Lucyd Armor in bulk for safety teams?
Yes. Safety managers and procurement leads ordering for a team or fleet should start at our B2B hub, where we handle volume pricing and deployment questions directly, rather than the consumer checkout. Armor and Armor Slim are the high-impact, Z87+ models most safety programs specify for fleet orders.
What’s the difference between Armor, Armor Slim, and Armor Vantage?
Armor and Armor Slim share the Z87+ high-impact rating, differing mainly in fit and Rx range: -2 to +8 SPH for Armor, -2 to +6 SPH for the narrower Armor Slim. Armor Vantage trades the Z87+ rating for basic Z87 impact but accepts any prescription, adds a fixed rubberized Keyhole bridge instead of an adjustable nosepad, and comes in one M/L size with a larger lens.
